Diet update (wow, big news there...).
Day 21 (Sun): 136
Day 22: 136 <-- official 3-week weight
Day 23: 135
Day 24: 135
Day 25: 135
Day 26: 133
Yes, that's another 3 pounds. My official 3-week weight is the same as my 2-week weight, I thought I had plateaued (or is it "plateaud"?) ... um, I thought I had reached a plateau (yeah, there you go!).
2 pounds this morning? I think it is a blip, as I had a handful (ok, maybe 2) of M&M's. But, I'm still only at a single coke -- that was on Saturday (Day 20). I got a massive headache, because I didn't eat enough lunch. I was helping a friend with his Boy Scout Eagle project (ok, a friend's son, but the friend's other son is friends with my son), and lunch was one of those deli sandwich rings -- mainly bread. So, I thought I'd eat just 2 slices and no chips and drink water. MISTAKE! It would have been safer to eat chips or some more sandwich, because then I wouldn't have gotten the headache. Oh well, live and learn.
I went to the store to buy jeans, mine were hanging off me. I got a pair 2 inches smaller than what I was wearing. Not "tight," but almost snug. They should loosen up, then shrink back when they get washed.
Had an interview, I feel a little overqualified. They need someone to work in VB, with an Access database, and work on file import/export stuff to another database (I think an older version of Access). With my RDBMS background, Access seems way too light-weight. If I had to advise them, I'd say to look for a mid-level programmer, not a senior-level (like me) -- maybe 4-6 years of experience, not my 15+ years! This company is owned by General Dynamics, so there might be some lateral movement available later. I'll have to wait and see if they want to offer me enough money.
Another note on the diet front, I've been eating "Uncle Sam" cereal with Splenda (the "yellow stuff"), and it's not so bad. I can add enough to make the cereal almost sweet, without getting a bad aftertaste. However, it's not too good with iced tea, I get a really bad aftertaste, probably because I like so much sugar in my tea.
That's all I can think of now; I think I'll keep the weight updates down to once a week or so -- we'll see.
Hasta manana (or whenever).
